15 pine martens reintroduced to Dartmoor, South West England by conservationists.
Conservationists have successfully reintroduced pine martens to Dartmoor, South West England, after a century-long absence. In September, 15 martens, sourced from healthy populations in Scotland, were released into secret locations and fitted with radio collars for tracking. This initiative, led by the Devon Wildlife Trust, aims to restore the species and improve woodland ecosystems, with additional releases planned for Exmoor in 2025.
