Kyrgyzstan to invest budget surplus in $8bn railway project enhancing Central Asia's economy.

Kyrgyzstan's Deputy Finance Minister announced that the Kambar-Ata-1 Hydro Power Plant and the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway will enhance Central Asia's economic growth. During a meeting of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, he revealed that Kyrgyzstan will invest part of its budget surplus into the railway, which is projected to cost $8 billion. The 523 km project aims to transport 15 million tonnes of freight annually and is set to begin in October.
