Canadian pension fund CDPQ acquires 13.5M Saputo shares, increasing stake to 4.51%.
Canadian pension fund manager CDPQ has invested approximately $378 million to acquire 13.5 million shares of dairy company Saputo Inc., raising its stake to about 4.51%. The shares, purchased at $27.96 each, were part of a larger sale of 40 million shares by Francesco Saputo for estate planning. Other family members acquired the remaining shares, while Francesco retains 2.5 million shares. CDPQ's investment in Saputo dates back to 1997.
