Bengaluru startup Vidyut and JSW MG Motor India have launched a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model for MG electric vehicles, enabling customers to rent batteries at ₹2.5 per kilometer. This approach cuts running costs by up to 40% and lowers initial vehicle prices by excluding battery costs. Customers can rent or buy the battery after 3-5 years. Vidyut also supports used EV sales, enhancing affordability and accessibility in the EV market.
