11-10 year-olds accused of church arson won't be prosecuted; will participate in restorative youth program.
Three boys, aged 11 and 10, accused of setting fire to The Church of the Holy Name in Greenisland, Co Antrim, on September 1, will not be prosecuted. Instead, they will participate in a youth diversionary program focused on restorative justice. The decision to drop charges considered the children's ages and victim perspectives. The fire, which also damaged a parish hall, was not deemed a hate crime.
