Taranto Limited, a concrete company in Northern Ireland, has been fined £90,000 following the death of employee Matthew Biggerstaff, 21, in a preventable accident in 2021. The Health and Safety Executive found the company failed to secure the mixing drum and conduct a proper risk assessment. Biggerstaff was killed when the drum rotated while he was clearing hardened concrete, leading to fatal injuries. Taranto pleaded guilty to a health and safety violation.
