McGill University may cancel law school classes if faculty union strike continues without agreement.

McGill University may cancel law school classes for the semester if a faculty union, on strike since August, fails to reach an agreement by today. The university insists the union must negotiate working conditions collectively with other associations, stating it's impractical to start classes two months into the semester. The McGill Law Students' Association criticizes the university's proposal, labeling it "smoke and mirrors." The union, certified in November 2022, has not yet secured a collective agreement.
