French President Macron expects full EU approval for 2014's CETA trade deal with Canada.

French President Emmanuel Macron is optimistic that the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) between the EU and Canada will gain formal approval from all EU member states. Signed in 2014 and provisionally implemented in 2017, CETA faced initial opposition from French senators influenced by farmer protests. Despite this resistance, Macron asserts that full ratification is likely to occur.
