External liabilities totaled $6.8 trillion, resulting in net external assets of approximately $2.99 trillion. Reserves accounted for 35% of assets at $3.45 trillion, while direct investment assets made up 31% at $3.02 trillion. Direct investment liabilities were 51% of total liabilities at $3.49 trillion, with portfolio liabilities at 27%.
