A car fire occurred late on September 29 in Mount Clear, Victoria, damaging a maroon Toyota Echo. Firefighters extinguished the blaze shortly after arrival. The Ballarat Crime Investigating Unit is investigating the cause. Separately, an excavator was reported stolen from Delacombe during the same night, marking the second theft on Cherry Flat Road this month.
