Bharti Airtel, India's second-largest telecom provider, has prepaid ₹8,465 crore to the Department of Telecommunications for spectrum acquired in 2016, which included 173.8 MHz across various bands. This payment, made ahead of schedule, aims to strengthen government relations and alleviate future financial burdens. Airtel has been proactive in clearing past dues, having also prepaid significant amounts for previous spectrum acquisitions this year.
