Joyce Barfield, a 78-year-old woman, was found dead in her Gloverville home following a house fire early Sunday morning. The Aiken County Coroner's Office responded and pronounced her dead shortly after. Investigators believe the fire started from a candle in a bedroom. An autopsy is planned to determine the cause of death, and the investigation is being conducted by the coroner's office alongside the Aiken County Sheriff's Office.
