A charter barge carrying about 100 passengers encountered distress on Hartbeespoort Dam due to strong winds on Saturday night. The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) responded, transferring injured individuals, including children, to safety for treatment. Pumps were deployed to manage water ingress. The barge was successfully towed to Ifafi Boat Club by 9 PM, where all patients received medical care, and no further assistance was needed. An investigation is pending.
