The Indian Army held its inaugural High Altitude Marathon in Spiti District, Himachal Pradesh, on September 28-29, 2024. With over 640 participants, the event featured four race categories: a 77 km challenge, a full marathon, a half marathon, and a 10 km race. Aimed at promoting local culture and tourism, the marathon also supported the Vibrant Village Programme and encouraged physical fitness and mental resilience among participants.
