On September 28, two brush fires erupted on Penticton Indian Band land near Westhills Drive and Sage Road around 3:30 p.m., prompting emergency response and the closure of parts of Westhills Drive by the RCMP. The first fire, near Westhills Drive, was mostly extinguished by 4 p.m., allowing crews to focus on the second blaze. The causes and sizes of both fires remain unknown.
