African Development Bank grants $19.8M to South Sudan for Sudanese refugee crisis response, benefiting 160,375 people.

The African Development Bank (AfDB) has granted $19.8 million to assist South Sudan in addressing the Sudanese refugee crisis, which has seen over 800,000 people flee since April 2023. The Sudan Refugee Crisis Response project, running from November 2024 to October 2026, aims to foster peace and resilience within South Sudanese communities. It will directly support 26,180 households, with an estimated 160,375 people benefiting indirectly. The UNHCR will contribute an additional $2.43 million.
