Joseph Desjarlais, a 34-year-old man wanted for armed robberies, died after being shot by RCMP during a police chase in Fishing Lake First Nation, Saskatchewan, on September 24. Officers pursued Desjarlais in a stolen van, firing at it during the chase. He was later found unresponsive inside the vehicle. The Saskatchewan Serious Incident Response Team is investigating the police conduct, with a report expected within 90 days. Desjarlais's family seeks answers regarding the incident.
