2023 Titanic dive: Titan submersible implodes, killing all 5 onboard, including OceanGate CEO.
During a June 2023 dive to the Titanic wreck, the crew of the support ship Polar Prince felt a "shudder" coinciding with the loss of communication with the Titan submersible. The master of the Polar Prince later stated this was not reported to the Coast Guard at the time, which could have influenced search efforts. The Titan imploded, resulting in the deaths of all five passengers, including OceanGate's CEO, Stockton Rush.
