Three family members from the Chicago suburbs have been sentenced for child labor trafficking, coercing two undocumented teenagers from West Africa into forced labor. Nawomi Awoga, 75, received 8.5 years; Marina Oke, 38, got 7 years and 10 months; and Assiba Lea Fandohan, 35, was sentenced to 6 years and 8 months. They must pay $153,000 in restitution. The victims endured abuse and were rescued after escaping in 2016 and 2018, leading to the family's conviction.
