Bengaluru court orders FIR against Finance Minister Sitharaman over alleged electoral bond extortion.

A Bengaluru special court has ordered an FIR against Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman over alleged extortion related to electoral bonds, following a complaint from the NGO Janadhikar Sangharsh Parishad. The complaint claims Rs 230 crore was collected from Anil Aggarwal's firm and Rs 49 crore from Aurobindo Pharmacy from 2019 to 2022. The Supreme Court previously deemed the electoral bond scheme unconstitutional. A hearing is set for October 10.
