Assam CM denounced Karnataka's Kharge for challenging Assam's semiconductor industry support, amidst Indian government plans to establish a facility in Assam.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma criticized Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge for questioning Assam's capacity to support semiconductor manufacturing units. Kharge argued that Assam lacks the necessary ecosystem for such industries. In response, Sarma accused the Congress party of obstructing northeastern development. The Indian government plans to establish a semiconductor facility in Assam, creating around 30,000 jobs, as part of a larger investment initiative.
