Wander Franco, a shortstop for the Tampa Bay Rays, has been ordered to stand trial in the Dominican Republic on charges of sexual abuse, sexual exploitation of a minor, and human trafficking. The judge found sufficient evidence for the case to proceed, although a trial date is pending. Franco faces up to 20 years in prison and is currently on MLB's restricted list. The girl's father previously withdrew his complaint against Franco after reaching an agreement.
