Sanjay Raut, MP from Shiv Sena (UBT), has been sentenced to 15 days in jail and fined ₹25,000 by a Mumbai court for defamation. The conviction, under IPC Section 500, follows a complaint from Medha Somaiya, wife of BJP leader Kirit Somaiya, who accused Raut of making false allegations regarding a ₹100 crore scam linked to public toilet construction. Raut plans to appeal the ruling.
