Patrick Wimberly, former mayor of Inkster, Michigan, has pleaded guilty to accepting a $50,000 bribe for the sale of city-owned land. During his tenure from 2019 to 2023, he solicited a total of $100,000 in cash payments. His corrupt activities came to light during a federal investigation, which the FBI halted before the property transfer. Wimberly lost his re-election bid in 2023 after his indictment.
