Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has appointed Suze Youance, a Haiti-born civil engineer, as the new independent senator from Quebec. Youance immigrated to Canada in 2006 and has over a decade of experience in Canadian aid projects in Haiti. Residing in Montreal, she has taught at the École de technologie supérieure and leads the Haitian Community Office, supporting various community needs. This appointment marks Trudeau's 76th senator since 2015.
