On September 21, a serious traffic collision occurred in Mooncoin, Co Kilkenny, involving a motorcycle and an elderly pedestrian. The man, in his 80s, sustained serious injuries and was initially treated at University Hospital Waterford before being transferred to Mater Misericordiae University Hospital in Dublin. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone with camera footage to come forward to assist in the investigation.
