39-year-old Paul Whelan's burglary charge for scaling Leinster House railings reduced to trespass in Dublin District Court.
Paul Whelan, 39, had his charge for scaling the railings of Leinster House reduced from burglary to trespass in a Dublin District Court. The change came after the DPP directed the gardaí to replace the initial charge under the Theft and Fraud Act with a lesser Public Order Act offense. Whelan remains on €200 bail with conditions, including a prohibition from entering government buildings, and is set to reappear in court in October to enter a plea.
