Cory Maddox, a 43-year-old from East Waterboro, Maine, was killed on Monday after being struck by the bucket of a front-end loader operated by a co-worker at Dayton Sand and Gravel. The incident occurred while Maddox was walking across the yard. Despite resuscitation efforts, he could not be saved. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the accident, which Maine State Police say shows no signs of foul play.
