4th-largest iron ore miner Fortescue invests $2.8B with Liebherr to establish a 51% emission-reducing, zero-emission mining fleet.

Fortescue, the fourth-largest iron ore miner globally, is investing $2.8 billion to establish one of the largest zero-emission mining fleets through a partnership with Liebherr. The company will acquire 475 electric machines, including 360 autonomous trucks, to replace two-thirds of its fleet and reduce its carbon emissions by 51%. Fortescue aims to achieve "real zero" emissions by 2030 while also expanding into renewable hydrogen production.
