Seoul launches South Korea's first nighttime self-driving taxi service in Gangnam district.

Seoul launches South Korea's first nighttime self-driving taxi service in the Gangnam district, starting Thursday. Operating from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., the service covers an 11.7-square-kilometer area. Three autonomous taxis will be available via the Kakao T app, accommodating up to three passengers. The service is free until year-end, with plans to introduce fees in early 2024. Autonomous operation occurs on major roads, with a driver present in narrower areas.
