Egypt's Ministry of Agriculture and the UN World Food Programme (WFP) have launched the second phase of the "Transforming the Livelihoods of Smallholder Farmers" project. This initiative aims to enhance the livelihoods of smallholder farmers in Upper Egypt, focusing on financial literacy and women's economic empowerment. Funded by five banks with over EGP 120 million, the project builds on a successful first phase that improved crop production by 34% and net profit by 35%.
