The event occurred at 2 a.m. on Monday after heavy rains caused rivers to overflow, resulting in flooding in the Xamneua district. The Lao Weather Bureau has warned residents near the Mekong River and in low-lying areas to prepare for possible flooding as conditions may worsen.
