46-year-old SDPD Officer Orso dies after DUI arrest and release from Riverside County jail.
San Diego Police Officer Lawrence Orso, 46, died shortly after being released from a Riverside County jail following a DUI arrest. Found unresponsive in the parking lot of Cois Byrd Detention Center, lifesaving efforts failed, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Riverside County Sheriff's Department reported no signs of foul play, and the cause of death is under investigation. The San Diego Police Department is cooperating with authorities.
