Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda announced that the National Medical Commission (NMC) aims to add 75,000 medical seats by 2029 to meet rising demand. He praised the NMC for its recent success in increasing MBBS seats to 100,000 ahead of schedule and adopting AI for evaluating medical colleges. The National Medical Register (NMR) was also launched to authenticate doctors, alongside the Family Adoption Program to enhance clinical skills among MBBS students.
