Portage Public Safety responded to two fires within two days. On Monday, they contained an attic fire on Ramona Avenue, with the cause under investigation and no injuries reported. The following night, a small fire at Valley Family Church was extinguished by staff using a fire extinguisher. It was caused by spontaneous combustion of wet, stained wood slats disposed of improperly, resulting in minimal damage and no injuries.
