Ireland's Uisce Éireann lost 40% of water supply due to leakages, affecting 37% of deliveries, with leakage reduction targets not met.

A report from Ireland's Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU) reveals that Uisce Éireann lost nearly 40% of its water supply due to leakages in 2022, affecting 37% of all deliveries. The utility is falling short of its goal to reduce leakage by 161 million liters per day by 2024. Annual savings decreased significantly from 41 million liters in 2021 to 11 million in 2022. The CRU urged customers to respond to leak notifications for effective repairs.
