HSBC is contemplating appointing its first female Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in 159 years, with Pam Kaur, currently the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer, as a frontrunner. The CFO position became available after Georges Elhedery took over as CEO on September 2. Other candidates include Greg Guyett, Willard McLane, and Kavita Mahtani. No final decision has been reached, and additional candidates may emerge.
