Hazmat crews responded to a potential chlorine leak at the City of Sidney Water Treatment Plant early Tuesday morning. Monitoring systems alerted workers, leading to an evacuation prior to the Hazardous Materials Response Team's arrival. The team contained the leak, securing two chlorine cylinders and managing a release of about 40 pounds. The shelter-in-place order for nearby residents was lifted, and normal operations resumed with no water contamination reported.
