Canadian photographer Patricia Homonylo won the 2024 Bird Photographer of the Year award for her impactful image "When Worlds Collide," depicting over 4,000 birds killed by collisions with windows in Toronto. Selected from more than 23,000 entries, her work aims to raise awareness about the annual death of over one billion birds in North America due to such incidents. The competition also supports global bird conservation efforts, donating £5,000 to related charities.
