WWF moves Siberian tigers to Kazakhstan for tiger reintroduction and conservation.
The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) has relocated two Siberian tigers, Kuma and Bohdana, from the Netherlands to Kazakhstan's Ili-Balkhash Reserve, aiming to revive the wild tiger population that has been extinct in the country for over 70 years. Following their acclimatization, the tigers are expected to contribute to a target of 50 tigers in Kazakhstan by 2035, enhancing biodiversity and conservation efforts in the region.
