In the second quarter of 2024, the Solomon Islands saw a 26.5% rise in international visitors, totaling 11,333, the highest since 2019. Australian tourists made up 33% of arrivals, while the U.S., Fiji, and New Zealand also experienced growth. Notably, arrivals from Papua New Guinea surged by 106.7%. Tourism Solomons' CEO, Dagnal Dereveke, credited marketing efforts for this increase and emphasized potential growth in the Fiji and PNG markets.
