Liberty University's Flames football team defeated East Carolina University Pirates 35-24 after a four-hour weather delay caused by lightning. The game, initially starting at 6:00 pm, was suspended shortly after kickoff and resumed at 10:45 pm, with about 1,000 fans remaining. Trailing at halftime and after the third quarter, the Flames rallied in the fourth quarter to secure the win. Their next game is on September 28 at Appalachian State.
