Thailand updates drunk driving laws with urine and blood testing protocols, effective 2024.
Thailand has updated its drunk driving regulations, replacing older breathalyzer-focused laws with new urine and blood testing protocols. Under the new rules, effective in 2024, police can administer urine tests with consent or require blood tests at hospitals for those refusing breathalyzers. Drivers over 50mg of alcohol (20mg for those under 20) will face charges. The changes aim to enhance road safety and close existing legal loopholes.
