Federal judge dismisses former LA County Sheriff's lawsuit against "do not rehire" list.

Former Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva's lawsuit challenging his placement on the "do not rehire list" has been dismissed by a federal judge. The judge ruled that Villanueva did not adequately demonstrate violations of his due process or First Amendment rights. Following his defeat in a March election for the Board of Supervisors, Villanueva has two weeks to amend and refile his lawsuit. The list prohibits certain former employees from being rehired.
