Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas raises BoP surplus forecasts to $2.3B in 2024 and $1.7B in 2025 due to strong economic growth and increased world trade.

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas has revised its Balance of Payments (BoP) surplus forecasts, projecting $2.3 billion for 2024 and $1.7 billion for 2025, up from previous estimates. This optimism stems from strong economic growth and increased world trade. However, the current account deficit is expected to widen to $6.8 billion in 2024, due to lower export growth. The financial account is also projected to see higher net inflows, reflecting robust non-resident investments.
