Mohammad Ibrahim Bazzi, a 60-year-old Lebanese-Belgian dual citizen, pleaded guilty in Brooklyn to charges of sanctions evasion and conspiracy to finance Hezbollah. Previously a not guilty plea, his change comes after federal prosecutors were informed. Designated a terrorist by the U.S., Bazzi faces up to 20 years in prison, forfeiture of $828,528, and deportation after his sentence. His co-defendant, Talal Chahine, remains at large in Lebanon.
