Mark Drakeford, Wales's Finance Secretary, confirmed that public sector pay increases will not lead to cuts in other services. Teachers will receive a 5.5% raise, with additional funding for learning needs coordinators, while doctors and nurses will also receive a 5.5% increase, and NHS-employed doctors and dentists will get 6%. Civil service staff are set for an average 5% pay rise. Drakeford noted the challenging financial situation ahead of the 2025-26 spending plan release on December 10.
