57th Geneva Council: Sindhi Foundation Executive Director calls for Sindh independence from Pakistan, citing human rights abuses and historical injustices.

At the 57th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, Sufi Laghari, Executive Director of the Sindhi Foundation, called for Sindh's independence from Pakistan. He argued that Sindh, once an independent state, has been treated as occupied territory since its annexation in 1843 and subsequent integration into Pakistan in 1947. Laghari highlighted human rights abuses, including the misuse of blasphemy laws, population displacement, and language marginalization, and demanded a referendum for independence.
