Once producing up to 17 tons annually, yields now stabilize around 15 tons due to erratic weather and diminishing snowfall. The Advanced Research Centre is developing irrigation schedules and guidance to support farmers. Government initiatives, including a Saffron Park and a Geographical Indication tag, aim to preserve this vital cultural and economic resource.
