Chief Joel Fitzgerald Sr. of RTD police leaves position, reasons unclear.
Joel Fitzgerald Sr. is no longer the chief of police for the Regional Transportation District (RTD), having been on leave since July. The circumstances of his departure remain unclear, as RTD has not disclosed whether he resigned or was terminated. Fitzgerald's tenure included reports of excessive speeding in agency vehicles and limited facility access. RTD plans to announce an interim police leader soon.
